  • Designed a user-friendly, portable 3D printer without compromising on strength and precision.

  • Configured and used Repetier Host and Slic3r software with Marlin firmware.

Architecture

The motherboard of the printer consists of the Arduino Mega 2560 along with the RAMPS 1.4 Shield.

Slic3r software configured with Repetier Host, converts the 3D design of the object (STL file- Stereolithography) into G-code (machine readable code), and saves these codes on an SD card. The printer is equipped with an SD-card reader eliminating the need for a PC to be connected to the printer during the entire print job. Marlin firmware, compatible with this motherboard is employed.
